    Anti-Ragging

Zero tolerance policy and student safety measures.

    Overview

Nalanda College follows a Zero Tolerance policy towards ragging in line with the UGC Regulations on Curbing the Menace of Ragging in Higher Educational Institutions, 2009. Ragging—whether physical, verbal, psychological, or online—is a punishable offence. We are committed to a safe, respectful, and inclusive campus.

    What is Ragging?
    • Any conduct causing annoyance, fear, humiliation, or harassment to a student.
    • Forcing someone to do acts that cause shame or mental/physical harm.
    • Verbal abuse, bullying, exclusion, cyber-bullying, or any form of intimidation.
    Our Approach
    • Prevention: Orientation, awareness drives, signed undertakings from students & parents.
    • Redressal: Confidential reporting mechanisms with prompt inquiry by the Anti-Ragging Committee.
    • Discipline: Penalties as per UGC/University rules—warning, suspension, rustication, or police action.
    Illustrative Prohibited Acts
    • Insults, name-calling, or threats
    • Compelling to perform degrading tasks
    • Physical assault or intimidation
    • Online harassment, sharing private content
    If You Face Ragging
    Undertaking & Awareness

At admission and during orientation, every student and parent/guardian submits an Anti-Ragging Undertaking. Regular awareness sessions and posters on campus reinforce our commitment to a ragging-free environment.
